Ralph Lundsten

The world-famous composer, filmmaker, painter and author Ralph Lundsten was born and raised at Häärsgården in the village of Ersnäs about 15 kilometers outside of Luleå (Norrbotten). Häärsgården has now been renamed Ralph Lundstengården and is driven as a combined restaurant and conference facility.

Ralph has always upheld the Nordic light and the environment that he grew up in as a rich wellspring of inspiration. In his music he tells the folklore of elves, trolls, wood-sirens and little people. He also is greatly inspired by outer space. His tones have a healing ability that work as a spiritual balsam for the soul and touchs us all. Ralph's music is played throughout the world in different institutions and hospitals as a complement during rehabilitation. Ralph has been Sweden's most-played composer. The signature melody of the Swedish radio worldwide broadcast (Out in the wide world) is alone played over 170 000 times a year.

Ralph has created a music style of his own that has been successful all over the world. He is a pioneer within electronic music and was awarded the "Electronic music Oscar" (Schwingungen-Preis) in Duisburg, Germany, 1997. Ralph has also been recognized as a classical composer. EMI Classics have released a series of five CD's, one from each continent, and Ralph got the honor of representing Europe with his sixth nature symphony "Landscape of Dreams".

When the UN celebrated its fiftieth anniversary, Ralph Lundsten was the only composer played during the ceremony. His composition "The Joy of Being" was played and the text written to it was read.

Ralph Lundsten has produced an enourmous amount of music. He has composed since age seventeen and written 530 opus', released over 60 music albums, seven symphonies and over a hundred ballets. Ralph is also a gifted painter - he has given an exhibition at the Louvre in Paris and written a book called "Lustbarheter". He has also made twelve short films, many of which have been awarded both in Sweden and abroad.

Ralph is continuing his creative life on unthreaded ground in a loving, endless cosmos to enrich our lives with various forms of art.
